Davido Becomes First African Artist To Sign A Record Deal With Sony Music Global

African music star and Naija Superstar, Davido just signed a Record deal with Sony Music Global at their headquarters in New York. This record deal is the first of it’s kind in decades and provides Davido a huge machine in Sony Music which will help him create, distribute and market his music at a world class level.
The record deal which was executed by Nigerian raised, American Music Executive Efe Ogbeni (Grace, Red One) who is also partners with Nicki Minaj on Parker Ighile‘s project, and facilitated by Davido’s manager Kamal Ajoboye, is the BIG reason why Davido’s sophomore album, The B.A.D.D.E.S.T was pushed back in 2015.

Present at the signing were Davido, Adewale Adeleke, Efe Ogbeni, Kamal Ajiboye, Joel Katz (Number-One-ranked entertainment attorney) and Adam Granite (VP of Sony Music International)
This is an amazing day for Africans and Nigerians in particular, and the Afrobeat music as well; a lot is about to change and our sound now has a TRUE opportunity to make a dent in the music space on a global level.
The 23 year old musician took to social media pages to announce his signing with Sony which he captioned;

"Thank you God!! I've worked hard all my life for this day! This is the day that the lord has made!!"

Massive Congratulations  to him!
